Skills Matrix 360 · executive coaching diagnostics

How the people you work with see you — and how far that is from what your role expects

Self-assessment is half the picture. Skills Matrix 360 adds the other half: how your manager, peers and the people you lead see your behaviour in the ten skills that matter most for your role.

We all know what we’re like as bosses. Our people know it even better — they just rarely tell us in time.

The introductory call takes up to 20 minutes and commits you to nothing. The questionnaires and the report are currently in Croatian; for English-speaking teams, get in touch — an English version is in preparation.

What you get

A diagnosis that ends with a conversation, not a PDF

10 skills for your role

Chosen from a list of 21, based on your role, your challenges and what lies ahead. We don’t measure everything — only what makes the difference.

Self-assessment and 3 to 10 raters

Your manager, peers, the people you lead and, if you wish, clients or partners. Everyone responds to the same behaviours.

The matrix: me, others and expected

For each skill you see how you see yourself, how others see you, and the level your role expects.

Patterns and blind spots

Where your picture and other people’s picture diverge, and which behaviour pattern runs through several skills.

Messages from raters

What people wanted to tell you, in their own words: what you should keep doing and which single change would help most.

The coach’s personal assessment

I review and interpret every assessment personally. The report includes my assessment, recommendations and a plan for the next 90 days.

What makes it different

We measure behaviour, not personality

An original method

Not translated from English or bought off the shelf. The statements describe behaviour I watched from the front row: on management boards, in board meetings and at the negotiating table.

Expected level, not an average

We don’t compare you with an “average manager”, but with what your role actually expects. A divisional director and a board member are not measured on the same scale.

People, not an algorithm

The result doesn’t land in your inbox automatically. I read it first, and then we discuss it in the assessment interview.

How it works

From the first call to the plan: typically 3 to 21 days

  1. Introductory call (up to 20 min, free). We clarify the goal of the assessment and whether this is the right tool for you.
  2. Order and choice of skills. The client (a company or you yourself) fills in a short questionnaire about the role and its challenges; the system suggests 10 skills, and you can swap them.
  3. Raters. You enter 3 to 10 people you work with. Each receives a personal link; it takes about 15 minutes, and the deadline is 10 working days.
  4. Draft report within 3 working days. Once the assessment closes, I review all responses and send you a draft.
  5. Assessment interview (60 min). We discuss what the picture means, where the gap is largest and what is worth changing.
  6. Final report and recommendations. With a 90-day plan, recommendations for the work ahead and reading suggestions.

Who it is for

When the next step is bigger than the last one

  • directors and board members who want to hear what usually goes unsaid;
  • managers about to step into a bigger role, or just in it;
  • companies developing key people and successors;
  • individuals who commission the assessment for themselves.

What it is not

And what it is not for

  • it is not a personality test or a psychometric instrument;
  • it is not used for decisions on pay, promotion or dismissal — only for development;
  • raters are anonymous, except the manager, and we tell them so in advance;
  • only Expertive sees individual responses.

What do the report and the questions look like? See a sample report for a fictitious person: the matrix, patterns, messages from raters, the coach’s assessment and recommendations, over eleven pages. In the sample questions you can go through two self-assessment screens yourself; nothing is saved. Both are in Croatian.

Frequently asked questions

Before you ask

How much time does it take a rater?

About 15 minutes. For each skill, the rater marks how often a given behaviour actually happens. If they have no insight into a situation, they say so — that is more useful than guessing.

Will the person know who said what?

No. Ratings from peers and direct reports are shown only in aggregate, and only when at least two people in the group respond. The manager’s rating is shown separately, which the manager knows in advance. Messages from raters are quoted verbatim but without names; before the report, I remove any details that could identify the author.

Can I commission the assessment for myself?

Yes. You are then both the client and the person being assessed: you choose the skills and enter the raters yourself.

What if some raters don’t respond?

We send reminders, and after 10 working days the assessment closes. If a group doesn’t have enough responses, the report says so clearly and draws no conclusions the data can’t support.

Is this the same as the free Skills Matrix?

No. The free Skills Matrix is a self-assessment of nine skills and a good first step. Skills Matrix 360 adds other people’s view, ten skills chosen for your role, the coach’s personal assessment and a conversation.

What happens after the report?

You can implement the 90-day plan on your own, with an internal mentor or with coaching. I also recommend a reassessment with the same raters after six months, so that the shift shows up in the numbers, not just in how it feels.

If you’ve read this far, you probably already know which skill would surprise you.
