Experience

I attribute my success as an executive coach to my experience in top management. During my career I have worked on the development of more than 100 people, over roughly 2,500 hours and in more than 10 organisations. But the numbers matter less than what I learned along the way. I was lucky to work for excellent employers who invest in people, who believe in and support strong leaders, and who value the role of the individual in achieving great things.

For more than 25 years I worked in the most prestigious companies in the region, including Podravka, Croatia Osiguranje, HT Croatian Telecom, Iskon and Allianz Zagreb. I learned first-hand that successful companies are built on strong relationships and clear communication, and that executives with high emotional intelligence rise to the top. I can relate instantly to the challenges executives face and act quickly to give them a supportive, productive environment in which to explore new behaviours that lead to career breakthroughs.

Everyone can benefit from professional coaching

During my business career I took part in company-wide mentoring programmes. I discovered that I enjoy helping others develop, and that I grow through it, which led me to a new career as an executive coach. My professional and coaching qualifications include:

  • Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching, Academy of Executive Coaching, London
  • MBA (cum laude), IEDC-Bled School of Management
  • Other professional and leadership courses: conflict management (Dale Carnegie, New York), transactional analysis, situational leadership, change management and many more

Corporate Experience

CFO and board member of the leading Croatian insurer (EUR 500m premium income), owned by Adris, the largest Croatian private group. The company is listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange and operates in both non-life (P&C) and life insurance. Miro was responsible for finance, asset management and IT. During his mandate the company went through a major post-privatisation restructuring.

CFO and board member of a leading listed FMCG and pharmaceutical group (EUR 560m revenue), the market leader in processed food in Croatia with more than 50% of sales in international markets. Responsible for finance and IT. During his time there the company went through a cycle of restructuring and mergers and acquisitions.

CFO and board member of an alternative start-up fixed-line telecom operator (EUR 50m revenue, acquired as the second brand of Croatian Telecom), responsible for finance, HR and general affairs. During Miro’s mandate the company went through post-acquisition stabilisation.

CFO and board member of the Croatian subsidiary of an international insurance group, in both life and non-life insurance. In addition to running finance, IT and asset management, Miro restructured the finance function and introduced new HR tools and a new performance-based reward system.
